Update on my Mom...

...Saturday she woke up and introduced herself to the Nurse! My sisters say that she is communicating pretty good...she says its hard to say somethings sometimes... AMAZING!!!

My mom...

My mom has been institutionalized again...even though this has been going on since before I was born, it is always hard. I am not very close to my mom...not something I am proud of. I bought her some clothes and shoes, along with some books(she is an avid reader), and sent them off last week. I tried to call the other day, but she was sleeping. They did tell me that she was taking her medication and participating in the group activities. Paul and I have promised to take care of her clothing necessaties in the future along with some extras. My sisters, Lisa and Joni, have been taking care of her, mostly Joni on a day to day basis, but Lisa has power of attorney. We are now faced with the question of Nursing homes and whether or not it is time - no easy answers there. I would like to thank my sisters for taking care of mom and remind them to take care of themselves. I hope my mom is able to find some peace...please send her your prayers.
